    Job Description
    Director – Quality & Patient Safety
    We are seeking a Director in our Quality Department to:
    • Be responsible for leading the development and implementation of quality and patient safety focus throughout SPH.
    • Direct strategies to successfully implement and monitor quality, patient safety and performance excellence initiatives
    • Be responsible for all engineering of replacement or repairs of HVAC equipment.
    • Coordinate organizational initiatives to obtain patient experience feedback
    • Be responsible for the organizational accreditation survey process, patient education, medical staff support, and all hospital and provider public reporting related to quality and patient experience. 
    Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration, or a related field. Other equivalent combination of education and experience also considered.. 
    • Master’s degree in healthcare, business administration or a related field preferred.
    Experience:
    • 4 years of quality improvement experience in a healthcare setting required.

    • Possess creativity, innovation and self-motivation to improve and /or create new programs and processes in order to support improvements in patient care and services provided by SPH.
    • Excellent communication, verbal and written, with a variety of individuals and personalities is key to success in this position.
    • Ability to communicate with the Board, leadership, staff, medical staff, and external agencies as a champion for safe, high quality care.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills in motivation, managing change, delegation, conflict resolution, and written and oral communication.
    • Ability to use conflict resolution, listening, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively facilitate and lead multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to function independently and multi-task.
    • Ability to set priorities, develop action plans, monitor and report on progress.
    • Advanced knowledge of performance excellence, systems thinking, quality improvement, LEAN concepts, patient safety, statistical data analysis, and project management tools and techniques.
    • Advanced knowledge of current health care management principles, practices and procedures including process improvement techniques.
    • Knowledge of risk management, peer review, HIPAA. 
    • Ability to work under stress and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency with various software programs including Microsoft Excel, including strong skills with graphing functions, Microsoft Word and Outlook as well as government and 3rd party hosted web sites which are utilized for data submission and report generation.
    Schedule:
    • Full time position – 80 hours in a bi-weekly period (1.0 FTE)
    • Monday through Friday – primarily from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
