Eagle Inn Sauk Prairie

Open since 1984, this family restaurant is open seven days a week and serves everything from homemade cinnamon rolls to broasted chicken.  Sitting on a picturesque corner across from the Wisconsin River, it's a great place to stop while you're here.

Lake Wisconsin Country Club
Looking for that special Wisconsin Favorite - Friday Night Fish Fry?  Look no further than the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.  Not open only for members, the Club's restaurant has one of the best fish fries in the area.

The Press Box
Catch a game at this great hangout in downtown Sauk City.  Great soups and sandwiches are served alongside the sports memorabilia and friendly atmosphere.

Bald Eagle Watching Days

The 25th Anniversary of Bald Eagle Watching Days returns to Sauk Prairie on January 14th, 2012.  Don't miss the first rehabilitated Eagle release along the river in several years, a breathtaking event.  Educational shows, bus tours and exhibits round out this great Saturday.  If you cannot make Eagle Days, bus tours are offered every Saturday at 10am, starting from Cedarberry Inn.

Cameo Antiques
This charming antique mall just off of Highway 12 offers three floors to explore. From furniture to glassware to quirky decor, and everything vintage and classic in between, you might just lose yourself for hours in this 12,000-square foot store.

Devil's Head Ski Resort
Devil's Head attracts skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels with its 500 feet of vertical excitment on one of the highest mountains in Wisconsin.  The resort also offers a variety of day and night recreation.

Prairie Flowers and Gifts
A shop like no other!  Prairie Flowers and Gifts features a quaint space full of gifts for friends, family and yourself, including garden, home decor, entertainment, accessories, textiles, dec-acc and occasion gifts.  This sweet smelling, relaxing haven also offers design services.

River Arts Center
A 510-seat modern theater, the River Arts Center hosts several high-quality performances a year, ranging from musicals to dance performances to soloists and choirs.  Be sure to check their schedule to see if you can catch a show while you are in town!

The House on the Rock
An absolutely eclectic collection of rooms and exhibits, this museum is a fantastical series of rooms, streets, gardens and shop designed by Alex Jordan, Jr.  An architectural masterpiece sitting on top of a rock in beautiful Spring Green, the museum rivals those buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright, and is something everyone should see at least once in a lifetime.

This unique boutique features a wide variety of jewelry, home decoration, baby gifts, styles and scents.  Be sure to stop in for your Holiday Shopping!

Wollersheim Winery
This scenic hillside winery was first selected for vineyards in the 1840's by Hungarian County Agoston Haraszthy.  These days, this regional winery has received numerous awards for its wines and has gained recognition as a leading winery in the Midwest.  For $5 you can tour one of the most alluring spots in Sauk Prairie.  The wine tastings are complimentary, and you'll probably want to save room in your overnight bag for a bottle of Domaine du Sac or Prairie Fume to take home.  This winter, take advantage of two great events at the Winery: Ruby Nouveau Tasting on Saturday, November 19th and A Vintage Christmas on Saturday, November 26th.

Wyttenbach Meats
If you are looking for special gifts to please the meat-lover in your family, this family-run farm-to-table business offers a wide selection of meats, including specialty cuts, a delicious variety of brats (ever tried Pineapple Brats?  Tomato Basil?), fish, poultry, and, if you're lucky, you might get there early enough to buy a box of Fritz's homemade cookies, too!


How to Get Here
By Car
The Sauk Prairie Riverway Area can easily be reached by Highway 12, or from Interstate 90/94 via State Road 60 through Lodi.  Sauk Prairie is a half hour from Madison, just under three hours from Chicago, and just over four hours from Minneapolis, making it a great weekend destination.  For a map of the area, click here.
