The original Badger Village built during WWII for housing some of the over 12,000 workers in the Badger Ordnance Works.
After WWII the Village was home for UW students attending the University on the GI Bill.
In the 1950s used again to house workers at BOW producing propellant for the ammunition used by our soldiers in Korea.
Following its decline in the 1950s, it was sold to private investors and reborn as housing for retirees and others in the 1960s.
