Oomph pah pah and Gemuetlichkeit come alive when the Dorf Kapelle 16-piece Show Band keeps Oktoberfest alive on Sunday, October14, at the Dorf Haus Restaurant, Roxbury (near Sauk City). A Bavarian buffet including Kasseler Ripchen, Sauerbraten, Spatzle, Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad and more, will be served at noon with the performance from 1-3 p.m.
The performance-a polka step back to Old World Europe-performs in the Bavarian-style banquet room at the Dorf Haus.
The Dorf Kapelle Show Band performs waltzes, marches and polkas using accordions, trombones, tubas, alphorns and more to provide a huge variety of entertainment. They play music from the famous German Ernst Mosch Band, plus other German, Austrian and Czech composers as well arrangements their own band members have created.
Rebecca Maier-Frey, co-owner of the Dorf Haus, said the Dorf Kapelle, translated “village band” is an all-time annual fall favorite and a quick trip back to Europe for an afternoon at the Dorf Haus.
The cost for the dinner and show is $38. Reservations are required by calling the Dorf Haus at (608) 643-3980. www.foodspot.com/dorfhaus
