The Village of Merrimac on beautiful Lake Wisconsin has an opening for a full-time Deputy Clerk.
    Pay and Benefits:
    The Pay Range is $17.00 to 19.00 per hour with a starting wage of about $18.00, depending on experience. The position reports to the Village Administrator. Benefits include paid time off (PTO), Wisconsin Retirement System, and a pre-tax Health Reimbursement Account contribution. 

    • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Strong computer-based skills, including
      • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel
      • Web-based computer applications
    • Basic accounting.  Familiarity with accounting software a plus, including
      • Quickbooks Payroll
      • Workhorse
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently to prioritize, coordinate, and complete multiple, detailed projects
    Responsibilities include:
    • Prepare monthly Utility Bills using Workhorse Accounting
    • Prepare monthly Village Voice newsletter with Microsoft Word
    • Prepare monthly Accounts Payable using Workhorse Accounting
    • Prepare receipts and deposits for Property Tax payments
    • Process timecards and prepare biweekly payroll through Quickbooks
    • Assist Administrator with Elections, including registrations, absentee ballots, election-day setup, oversight and documentation
    • Assist Administrator with preparation of monthly Board packets
    • Process rental requests for Village Hall and Memorial Park Shelter
    • Process annual pet licenses and liquor licenses
    • Answer phones
    • Process incoming and outgoing mail
    • Filing and records retention
    • Respond to title company requests
    • Assist Administrator with other aspects of municipal operations
    • Other typical office-type activities
