Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic/ 91B
The Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles.
- Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systems
- Inspect, service, maintain, repair, replace, adjust and test wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and components
- Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, starting and charging systems
- Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations
The skills you learn will help prepare you for a career with service stations, auto dealers, farm equipment companies and state highway agencies. You’ll be able to pursue a career as a garage mechanic, carburetor mechanic, transmission mechanic, radiator mechanic, construction equipment mechanic or endless track vehicle mechanic.The Wisconsin Army National Guard is a part-time service branch of the military. With over 66 different armories in the state, there's opportunities to serve almost anywhere! Citizen-soldiers, as they are known, serve only 1 weekend a month, and 2 weeks in the summer, but still receive full-time benefits such as:
