Journey-Level Electric Lineworker or Apprentice
Posted: 08/25/2024Sauk City Utilities is accepting applications for a Journey-level Electric Lineworker, or an Apprentice willing to complete the State apprenticeship. This position will be involved in the operation, construction, maintenance and repair of the Utility electrical system and other Village related work. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a valid driver’s license. If hired, a Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained within six months of employment. Will consider applications for Apprentice, if applicant is willing to complete the State apprenticeship program. Completion of the 9-month EPD (Electrical Power Distribution) program within the last 18 months is preferred, if applying as an Apprentice.
DOT drug and alcohol screening are required. This position requires the applicant to serve on-call duty on regular cycles. A 20 minute response time is required. Applicant must have the ability to perform strenuous physical labor and heavy manual tasks, climbing and working with energized lines. Knowledge of safety rules and good communications skills are very important. The utilities currently offer an excellent wage and benefit package. EOE.
