Groundskeeper (Part Time)

POSITION SPECIFICS
Title: Groundskeeper
FTE:  Part time (.5 FTE), 20 hours per week
Schedule: 8:00am - 12:00pm Monday through Friday
 
POSITION SUMMARY
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining SPH grounds during all seasons.  Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the groundskeeper will perform a range of duties including lawn care, trash collection, and leaf and snow removal.

POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
2. Picks up and removes trash, litter and debris from outdoor areas.
3. Empties trash and recycling containers.
4. Performs cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc.) in assigned areas.
5. Moves air filters to/from assigned areas of the building.
6. Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
7. Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs.
8. Waters lawns and gardens
9. Plants trees and prunes them when necessary.
10. Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
11. Keeps outdoor furniture clean and in good repair.
12. Completes snow removal tasks such as shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months.
13. Operates snow blower or snowplow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
