    Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift CNC Setup/Operator to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 055. This position starts at $20.20 per hour and offers a $1000.00 sign on bonus.     Summary: The CNC Set-Up person is responsible for independent operation of various CNC machines, maintaining machine operations, independent tool changes. Individual will perform set-ups and cycle through proven programs to obtain first article with little assistance. Training to achieve independent set up of primary assigned machine(s). Must demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend, work instructions, blueprints, and basic program movements. Individual will perform inspection of machined parts by the use of micrometers, calipers, and fixed gauges and other various measuring instruments. Training others of these skills also required.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following and are required for possible advancement:

    1. Operation of various types of CNC machines producing machined parts.
    2. Demonstrate ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
    3. Demonstrate ability to comprehend and interpret blueprints and specifications.
    4. Knowledge and use of micrometers, calipers and fixed gauges.
    5. Maintaining operation of machine process.
    6. Perform removal and resetting of tooling independently.
    7. Perform full set ups unassisted. (Primary assigned machines)
    8. Cycle through proven programs to obtain first article. (Primary assigned machines)
    9. Must provide factual information of proven processes in written form.
    10. Requires ability to read and follow program movements.
    11. Requires performance of routine maintenance of machines including oil and lubrication.
    12. Maintaining cleanliness of work area and equipment in a prescribed manner.

    Personal measuring and hand tools are required, list will be provided at time of interview, employee evaluation or upon request.

    Work subject to final inspection and assessment.

    Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    Minimum 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions / manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to communicate effectively.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to calculate such things as percentages, angles, feeds and speed.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.

    Stand or walk 100% of the shift, frequent bending and lifting 30-40 lbs. frequently, unassisted. 70 lbs. occasionally, assisted or unassisted.
