1st Shift Journeyman Electrician
Summary: The Licensed Journeyman will be responsible to install and maintain electrical power, lighting, control systems for the Foundry, Machine Shop and Assembly operations. The Licensed Journeyman Electrician must also be willing to train & oversee other maintenance personnel performing electrical work. Must be able to read and comprehend all types of blueprints, technical diagrams, and documents. Under the direction of the Maintenance Mgr. / Maintenance Supervisor, the Licensed Journeyman will perform the operations involved in the installing and maintaining wiring and lighting systems. The Licensed Journeyman Electrician must also have the ability to perform the inspection of other Maintenance personnel's electrical work. Proficiency in math and basic computer skills is also required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.
- Requires ability to read blueprints, schematic / wiring drawings.
- Requires ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
- Requires ability to install and maintain all wiring and lighting systems.
- Requires ability to inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and circuit boards.
- Requires ability to identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment.
- Requires ability to repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Must follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
- Required to have some types of Electrician tools needed to perform their assigned tasks.
- All work is subject to final inspection.
- Requires ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
- Will be required if needed to work in the Foundry and work some split shifts on occasions.

Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also be a Wisconsin State licensed electrician.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Blue prints and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Have the ability to communicate effectively.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.

Stand or walk 100% of the shift, frequent bending and lifting 30-40 lbs. frequently, unassisted. 70 lbs. occasionally, assisted or unassisted.
