    Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Kloster Molder Trainee to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 500. This position starts at $18.39 per hour.

    *This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus after successful completion of the orientation period.*

    The regular scheduled hours for this position are 5:30AM - 2:00PM, Monday through Friday with overtime eventually becoming a possibility or required. When working overtime, the shift is either 9 or 10 hours maximum.

    Summary - The Kloster Molder Trainee is responsible for learning the operations and techniques for the operation of equipment in proper sequence, frequent use of hoists, obtaining required patterns and the coordination of the melting/pouring function, as well as continuous observation of the molds and quality. Learn and assist with other duties in the department.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

    • Removal of excess sand from molds by use of files, air hoses, drills and scraping.
    • Coating of molds with paint brushes and sprayer.
    • Assembly of cores, setting cores in molds, closing molds either manually or by hoist and manipulators.
    • Begin to learn and understand the nuances of process cards and Pre-Production test paperwork.
    • Train on the ability to efficiently work at the shake-out station unsupervised and accurately complete the labeling and record keeping associated with that task.
    • Continuous observation of the molds, watching quality, and reporting any irregularities to supervision.
    • Frequent use of safe hoist operations.
    • Effectively communicate and interact with supervision, melters/pourers and maintenance (when applicable) personnel.
    • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
    • Complete daily process documentation accurately and neatly.
    • Begin forklift training.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Stand, walk and bend 100% of shift. Frequent lifting of up to 30 lb. unassisted. Ability to push/pull 700 pounds on a transfer rail. Must be able to withstand high temperatures throughout shift.
