    Summary Operation of equipment in proper sequence. Frequent use of hoists. Obtaining required patterns and coordination of the melt/pour function. Continuous observation of the molds and changing the patterns.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.
    1.Removal of excess sand from molds by use of files, air hoses, drills and scraping.
    2.Coating molds with paint brush and sprayer.
    3.Assembly of cores, setting cores in molds, closing molds either manually or by hoist.
    4.Scheduling and operating the B&P molding machine including obtaining required patterns and
    coordinating the melting/pouring function.
    5.Continuous observation of the molds, changing patterns, and reporting any irregularities to
    supervision.
    6.Frequent hoist operation.
    7.Maintain neat and orderly work area.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Standing/walking 100% of shift, Bending 15% to 20% of shift. Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds unassisted. Constant use of both hands simultaneously. Above average hand/eye coordination, with repeated manual dexterity. Must have extreme attention to detail.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
