• Furnace Ladle Repair Trainee

    Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 3rd Shift Furnace Ladle Repair Trainee to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 500. This position starts at $18.75 per hour.     Summary: Maintaining ladles, furnaces, and auto pour in good working condition. Essential duties and responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

    1. Perform all operations required to repair and reline all furnaces and ladles within the foundry.
    2. Inspect furnaces and ladles.
    3. Chip out loose sections of defective linings, replace crucibles and repair preheaters. Operation of jack hammers.
    4. Prepare daubing compounds and apply to repair ladles when necessary.
    5. Inspect furnace and ladles after drying and repair cracks or other defects.
    6. Repair auto-pour.
    7. May need to transfer molten metal to auto-pour from furnaces as well as charge slag furnaces.
    8. Completed work subject to inspections.
    9. Maintain neat and orderly work areas.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted approximately 90% of the shift. Standing 100% of the shift, bending approximately 50% of the shift. Crawling, kneeling, and climbing also required at random. Gripping tasks for extended periods of time.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
