    Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Shipping & Receiving Trainee to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 721. This position has a beginning hourly wage of $17.31.

    *This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus after successful completion of the orientation period.*

    The regular scheduled hours for this position are 6:30AM - 2:00PM, Monday through Friday with overtime eventually becoming a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the shift duration is either 9 or 10 hours maximum.

    Summary Shipping & Receiving Trainee’s responsibility is to learn all basic operations of the receiving department and preparing product for shipment to the distribution center.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

    • Required to operate all company lift trucks correctly and safely.
    • Required to enter and retrieve data from the computer system.
    • Responsible to identify and match product numbers from Pick slip(s) to cartons being shipped.
    • Must have average mathematical skills.
    • Must have average handwriting skills.
    • Must be able to work at heights of at least 10 foot.
    • Must be able to consistently bend and lift packages weighing on average 40lb.
    • Must be able to work independently.
    • Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to self-motivate.
    • Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills
    Ability to read, write and comprehend English. Follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of Milwaukee Valve.

    Mathematical Skills
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common factions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw interpret bar graphs

    Reasoning Ability
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
