Commit to learning more about poverty. As an interactive immersion experience, the Interactive Poverty Simulation gives participants a glimpse into the structural barriers, as well as some of the personal and emotional repercussions people in poverty face.
This IP Experience provides attendees with the opportunity to assume the role of a low-income family member living on a limited budget. The experience is divided into four 15-minute sessions, each of which represents one week in which participants must provide for their family and maintain their home.
It is a simulation, not a game. The objective is to shift our paradigm about poverty away from being seen as a personal failure and toward the understanding of poverty as structural, a challenge of society.
