Whooping Crane Festival 2012 is being held in conjunction with Operation Migration, the ultralight-led migration of Whooping Cranes. Once found in the wild in Wisconsin, the Whooping Crane disappeared from this state over a century ago. Operation Migration is working to re-establish a self-sustaining, migratory flock in Wisconsin.
