View Personal BioKippian (Kipp) InglisAs a long-time quilter and sewer, I love using color in my work. After years of using chemical-based dyes, I was introduced to plant dyes. That spoke volumes to me to meet my quest of continuing my work in a more sustainable way - not adding to water pollution, using chemicals harmful to the environment and to myself. I moved to this more gentle and benign practice and was wowed by the colors I could obtain from plants on my fiber creations! The side benefit was learning to slow down again and embrace the full process. I have had the privilege of learning from instructors of different cultures around the world and feel it is important to give respect and honor o them in my own work. I love passing on the techniques both taught to me and developed myself to those who want to learn about natural dyes and mark-making on fibers. I'm happy to have a space in which to both work and teach!Tell a Friend
