Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin

Sauk Prairie, WI – September is National Chamber of Commerce Month, and in Wisconsin, Governor Tony Evers has formally proclaimed it Chamber of Commerce Month statewide. The Governor’s proclamation praises local chambers for making Wisconsin “a better place to live, work, raise a family, own a business, and more.” The Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to join in this celebration and highlight the incredible efforts and impact of its staff, volunteers, municipal partners, and nearly 400 member businesses.

The Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in driving economic development, fostering community engagement, advocating for local business interests, and enhancing quality of life in the region. With a small but mighty staff of three and the ongoing support of more than 60 volunteers serving on five active boards and committees, the Chamber accomplishes a remarkable scope of work each year.

The Chamber boasts a 95% annual member retention rate and 70% engagement rate, demonstrating strong and sustained support from businesses across the Sauk Prairie Riverway. These figures speak not only to the value the Chamber provides, but also to the strong sense of collaboration that defines our local business community.

The Chamber’s work extends beyond business support—it is deeply integrated with local municipal planning and regional development goals. Some of the Chamber’s most impactful projects and initiatives include:

• Advertising & Promotion: Executing year-long marketing strategies tied to local events, hotel stays, sports tourism, weddings, and weekend getaways, promoting Sauk Prairie as a vibrant destination.
• Retail & Small Business Support: Hosting Retail Roundtables to offer hands-on training in AI tools, social media strategies, and video content production, helping local entrepreneurs save time and money.
• Community Advocacy: Ensuring Chamber board members attend Village Board meetings in both Prairie du Sac and Sauk City to stay aligned with local priorities and needs.
• Workforce Housing & Childcare Solutions: Spearheading efforts to address workforce housing and early childhood education, including the development of new housing initiatives and an early learning center to support working families.
• Placemaking & Visitor Experience: Leading projects to improve community aesthetics, signage, live music venues, and overall visitor experience in partnership with local government.
• Community Messaging & Media: Producing all social media reels, videos, and regional messaging campaigns to promote Sauk Prairie.
• Business Retention & Expansion: Conducting site visits to top local employers alongside partners like Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, exploring workforce recruitment, expansion, and succession planning.
• Regional Collaboration: Collaborating with villages and county leaders to align on housing, economic development, and promotional goals.
• Monthly Networking & Educational Events: Creating space for local professionals to learn, connect, and shape new community initiatives.
