    Order Processing and Sales Support, Prairie du Sac

    This company operates out of three locations and Prairie du Sac is where our home office and meat processing plant are located. We also operate the restaurant Heritage Tavern and Heritage Catering out of the Madison area. We sell our meats to grocery stores, restaurants and at our own locations and focus on providing high quality products for consumers to prepare in their own homes. Our pure Berkshire and cross-breed hogs are raised on pasture and are consider some of the finest animals in southern WI.

    Position Description

    Order processing and inventory monitoring are important aspects of this position. We rely heavily on the data that is tracked and utilized to drive our weekly production scheduling. Our team works very closely to monitor customer orders and communication between Order Processing and Production is critical on a daily basis. This is an independent position and there is a lot of variety in the day.

    We operate Monday-Friday with three primary delivery days. Monitoring an Orders inbox and our company Info account are crucial to keep the flow of orders coming in a timely fashion for our Fulfillment team. Prior experience working in a meat company is desirable. Hunting and other related hobbies or experience can also be helpful to know the cuts of meat.

    Prior experience working in food service will be helpful. This position will field a lot of different questions about our company so you will both be trained by staff and be given opportunity for self education to learn about our brands and services.

    In addition to customer service, you will also assist with our daily business needs for data entry (A/P) and order processing using Quickbooks.

    Job Requirements:

    • Process orders for grocery stores, restaurants and retail customers using Quickbooks and Stripe
    • Work collaboratively with meat plant manager and sales manager on sales opportunities and required processing instructions for customer orders
    • Monitor and update electronic Inventory system daily
    • Answer phones and emails to communicate with customers and vendors
    • Send out emails for weekly sales opportunities
    • Monitor customer orders and send emails weekly to existing customers
    • Engage with new customers and drive sales efforts
    • Manage shared email inboxes
    • Place orders with vendors for essential supplies
    • Invoice data entry for Accounts Payable
    • Assist with inventory of supplies

    What Background Are We Seeking?
    Strong communication skills, both in writing and over the phone
    Two years of Customer Service experience, Sales, Inventory
    Three years of experience working in a professional office environment
    Three years of experience using QuickBooks and Excel, or comparable financial/order processing systems
    One year of experience with Google products
    Familiarity with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable best practices
    Knowledge of beef, pork, chicken and lamb cuts
    Proficient computer skills and reasonable typing speed
    Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and a team oriented style of work
